Rothbury CAN's Film Screenings
Since 2023 Rothbury CAN has been bringing relevant films to the community of Coquetdale. All films have been screened for free, but donations gratefully accepted to pay for the cost of the films, and the hire of the hall.
With each film, we have invited speakers to discuss the content of the film. The audiences have been large and appreciative.

Kiss the Ground, 2023
Kiss The Ground
We showed this uplifting film, about soil and regenerative farming, to a large audience. It was very well received. Walter Riddell from Hepple Whiteside, Rachel Henry of Westhills, spoke about their farms, and Mike Pratt, Wildlife Trust, chaired the following discussion.

As this appeared to be Sir David Attenborough's last film, we screened Ocean. Again, incredibly well attended, and we had a workshop/discussion led by Georgina Fuller, from the Sea we See.

Farming films in 2025
This screening of two short films were again, very well attended.
Growing Rich With Nature is a short documentary film about Simon Hare, a farmer from County Durham. We were delighted to welcome Gus Nelless from Thistleyhaugh Farm to lead the discussion. Aidan Harrison did an excellent job of talking about farming in the past, and leading discussions after the films.
We also watched Leaving it Better, and were delighted to have Rakesh Prashara, and Kate Bramfitt joining Angus, to field questions, and talk more about Climate Action and Farming.
A wonderful evening - 'Inspiring'!
