*Thank You* to B&M Alnwick.
When Myra Milne, Lead Manager of Rothbury's RSPCA shop, got chatting to Louise, who works at B&M in Alnwick, a fabulous idea blossomed.
It was the lead up to Rothbury CAN's annual Great Big Green Event - and this was the first year we were holding the event in the summer.
Louise explained to Myra that B&M always had a lot of plants that were past their best, and she felt it was unfortunate that they were thrown out.

Myra to the rescue!
The ever resourceful Myra, suggested to Louise, that the RSPCA shop could take them, and sell them at the Great Big Green Event. Louise agreed that this was a fabulous idea.
Here is Myra, rescuing many plants for GBGE.
It didn't stop there!
B&M regularly have a wealth of plants that are unsold, perennials and bedding plants. All fine, they just need some tender loving care! Myra suggested a weekly pick up. B&M agreed.

The back area of the RSPCA shop - full of B&M plants!
Myra says, on behalf of all of the RSPCA staff (and of Rothbury CAN):
We would like to give huge thanks to Jason, Louise and the whole B and M Alnwick team for the amazing support they are giving to Rothbury RSPCA charity shop. By donating their tired plants on a weekly basis, the plants have an extra chance of life, waste is significantly reduced and recycling is a major boost, while the monies raised help towards the shelter, vet and rehoming costs for many animals in Northumberland.
A win win for all. A remarkable community partnership.
